Who am I?

‘Who am I?’ He asks, but nobody knows
As he lays on the slab, a tag on his toe.

‘Who am I?’ He asks, as he looks down from above
Remembering years, without friends, without love.

‘Who am I?’ He asks, as I lay all alone
I wandered the streets, no family, no home.

‘Who am I?’ He asks, with this tag on my toe
Now I remember, I died a John doe.
